Three Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Soccer Student-Athletes Named to the

Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Team

BEREA, OHIO — Three Baldwin-Wallace College women's soccer players, junior Emily Roll (Dover) and sophomores Emily Lawrentz (Mansfield/ Ashland Crestview) and Kristi Michaels (Aurora), have been named as Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athletes.

Roll was tabbed Academic All-OAC and both Lawrentz and Michaels were named as honorable mention choices.

Roll, who carries a 3.86 grade point average in psychology, played midfield for B-W and helped the Yellow Jackets to a 10-9-1 overall record and their second winning season in the last three years. Individually this fall, Roll played in 19 games and took 33 total shots, including 24 shots on-goal and scored six goals for 12 points to rank fourth on the team. In her three years at B-W, Roll has played in 58 games, taken 92 shots, including 46 on-goal, scored 14 goals and added two assists for 30 career points.

In the classroom, Roll is a Dean's List student and member of the Alpha Lambda Academic Honor Society. She participates in the B-W Big Brothers & Big Sisters Program, is a member of the College Republicans and Rowing Club and also serves as both a tutor and student research assistant.

Lawrentz, who carries a 3.903 grade average in biology and sport medicine, was a starting midfielder for the Yellow Jackets for the second straight year. Individually this season, Lawrentz played in all 20 games, took 19 total shots, including seven shots on-goal, scored two goals and had three assists for seven total points. In her two seasons on the varsity, Lawrentz has played in 37 games, taken 29 total shots, including 10 on-goal, scored five goals and had three assists for 13 career points. As a freshman, Lawrentz was tabbed as the B-W "Rookie of the Year".

In the classroom, Lawrentz is also a Dean's List student and member of the Alpha Lambda Honor Society and COAST. In addition, last week, Lawrentz was tabbed as a second-team CoSIDA Academic All-District IV player for her efforts in the classroom and on the soccer field.

Michaels, who carries a 3.92 grade average in education and political science, was a key defender for a B-W team that allowed 34 goals in 20 games with five shutouts. Individually this fall, Michaels played in 19 games, took five total shots, including two shots on-goal, and scored one goal for her first two collegiate points. In her two years in the Brown & Gold, Michaels has played in 37 games, taken 17 shots, including 12 on-goal, with the one career goal and two points.

In the classroom, Michaels is also a Dean's List student, member of Alpha Lambda and participates in the Campus Crusader for Christ, the B-W Emerging Leaders Group, the College Democrats and the Community Council for Greek Life.

"All three young women are outstanding students and soccer players and a credit to our campus community," said third-year Head Coach Reid Ayers. "Each young woman has her priorities in the right place, is a leader both in the classroom and on the soccer team and is involved on campus. We are very proud of all three."
