BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior 141-pounder Sayre Wuhr, a Hudson High School graduate, had a 1-2 record tonight and was eliminated at the 2004 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championship Tournament at Loras College at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Wuhr received a first round bye before losing by major decision, 13-5, to third-seeded Pat Brady of The College of New Jersey. In the loser's bracket, Wuhr again received a bye in the third round before defeating Garrett Miyake of Pacific (Wash.) University by major decision, 14-5. Wuhr was eliminated in the fourth round, one match shy of NCAA Division III All-American accolades when he lost to Kevin Owens of Central (Iowa) College, 7-5.
This was Wuhr's first trip to the Division III National Tournament. He ends his seaason at 27-9 overall and completes a string four-year career at 65-34 overall. Wuhr was the 2004 Ohio Athletic Conference 141-pound champion.
