Conference Dual Match Today (Jan. 25) in Berea
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team defeated Wilmington College, 25-15, in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 25) at the Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
With the win, B-W improves to 5-13 overall and 2-1 in the OAC. Wilmington falls to 2-5 overall and 1-3 OAC.
Individually, seven Yellow Jacket wrestlers each won their matches. Junior 133-pounder Chris Harrold (Willoughby/ South) defeated Alantino Keefer, 9-3, freshman 133-pounder Scott Haber (Parma/ Normandy) got his second win at the 141-pound weight class and third overall of the season with a 3-2 decision against Wilmington's Dan Garcia. Senior 165-pounder Joe Heiland (Shelby), junior 174-pounder T. Terry (Bedford/ St. Peter Chanel) and senior 184-pounder Sterling Sebek (Columbus, Ga./Brookstone) each won their individual matches by decision. Sophomore Devin Carman (Ashtabula/ Geneva), ranked seventh in the latest Division III Adidas/Brute Division III Coaches Association poll, won his 197-pound match by major decision, 13-5, against Dan Heckendorn. Senior 149-pounder Scott Conrath (St. Clairsville) rounded out the B-W winners with a victory by forfeit.
B-W will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 29 when they travel to Greenville, Pa. for the Tomcat Quad Meet with Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology, Mercyhurst-Northeast (Pa.) College and host school Thiel (Pa.) College at 1:00 p.m.
