second match at the Division III National Wrestling Duals in Williamsport, Pennsylvania
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team lost to Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology, 24-23, in its second match today (Jan. 9) at the Division III National Wrestling Duals in Williamsport, Pennsylvania ay Lycoming College. The Yellow Jackets will face King's College in its third match at 7:00 p.m. this evening. The tournament concludes tomorrow.
With its loss, B-W, ranked 29th in Division III, falls to 3-2 overall. For the Yellow Jackets, sophomore 125-pounder Jared Selover (Wapakoneta), senior 147-pounder Sayre Wuhr (Hudson), senior 165-pound national qualifier Joe Heiland (Shelby), 184-pounder Sterling Serbek () and heavyweight Bryan Kmetz (Brunswick) all won their individual matches.
Selover (Wapakoneta) pinned RIT's Jason Clinch in 4:53 to improve to 10-3 individually. Wuhr rebounded from a defeat in the first match earlier in the tournament with a win over Mike Pietrowski by technical fall, 17-2. Heiland improved to 13-4 individually with a 9-4 win over RIT's Sean Dust and Kmetz defeated Adam Abdelhamed, 4-3, by decision to improve to 14-2 on the year. Serbek won his match by forfeit.
