BEREA, OHIO-- The Baldwin-Wallace wrestlers extended their Ohio Athletic Conference winning streak to 3-0 with a 23-19 victory tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 27) in New Concord against the Muskingum Fighting Muskies.
With the victory the Yellow Jacket's team record improves to 6-3 and 3-0 in the OAC, and Muskingum College drops to 2-13 and 0-4 in the OAC.
Starting things off for the Jackets was heavyweight wrestler Bryan Kmetz (Brunswick) with a 5-0 decision in the third match of the night. Also helping to win the dual for the Jackets were Sayre Wuhr (Hudson) with a 15-0 technical fall in the 141-pound weight class over Muskingum's Emmit Jones and Mike Munroe (Wakeman, Western Reserve) with a close 8-7 victory in the 149-pound match. B-W won the remaining matches via forfeit.
On the season Kmetz improves his overall record to 17-2, Wuhr improves his record to 14-5 with his fourth tech fall of the season and Munroe improves his record to 2-5.
The Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 when they travel to Elmhurst (Ill.) for the Al Hanke Tournament, and next Tuesday, Feb. 3 B-W will host cross-town rivals John Carroll beginning at 7:30p.m.
