Conference Dual Match Tonight (Feb. 1) in Berea
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team defeated Muskingum College, 26-15, in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match tonight (Tuesday, Feb. 1) at the Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
With the win, B-W improves to 7-14 overall and 3-1 in the OAC. Muskingum falls to 3-12 overall and 0-4 OAC.
Individually, six Yellow Jacket wrestlers each won their matches. Freshman 125-pounder Brett Thomas (Gates Mills/ Mayfield) and 133-pounder Chris Harrold (Willoughby/ South) each won their matches by forfeit. Senior Scott Conrath (St. Clairsville) won his match by major decision against Muskingum's David Minor, 9-0. Senior 165-pounder Joe Heiland (Shelby) also won his match by major decision against Andy Keller, 19-8. Rounding out the B-W winners was senior 184-pounder Sterling Sebek (Columbus, Ga./Brookstone) and sophomore Devin Carman (Ashtabula/ Geneva), ranked seventh in the latest Division III Adidas/Brute Division III Coaches Association poll, who both won their matches by decision en route to the 26-15 Yellow Jacket victory.
B-W will return to action this Saturday, Feb. 5 when it hosts the 19th annual John Summa Tourmanent in the field house of the B-W REC Center. The first matches are set to begin at 10:00 a.m.
