BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match to Mount Union College, 23-14, tonight at the Timken Physical Education Center in Alliance. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets are now 7-6 overall and end the OAC regular season with a 2-4 mark. With its win, Mt. Union improved to 7-8 overall and 3-3 in the OAC.
Despite the loss, the Yellow Jackets received wins from freshman 125-pounder Jared Selover (Wapakoneta), junior 165-pounder Joe Heiland (Shelby), freshman 174-pounder Roger Roman (Wooster/ Northwestern) and freshman 197-pounder Devin Carman (Ashtabula/ Geneva) was 2-1 overall. With their wins, Selover and Heiland continue to be tied for the team-lead with 28 victories each. Selover is 28-6 and Heiland is 28-7. Tonight's match results are below.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Saturday, February 22 when they host Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University in their final dual match and Seniors' Night at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea at 7:00 p.m. That evening, B-W will honor seniors Jeff Varney (Chagrin Falls/ Kenston), Brian Tipka (New Philadelphia) and Greg Hartlaub (Avon Lake).
