Baldwin Wallace Wrestling Team Falls To No. 24 Ohio Northern, In First OAC Dual Match

Sam McIntosh Picked Up First Career
OAC Victory With A 6-2 Decision
ADA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team fell to 24th-ranked Ohio Northern University, 45-7. tonight (Tuesday, January 10, 2012) in the opening Ohio Athletic Conference match for both schools.
The Yellow Jackets are now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the OAC while the Polar Bears improved to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in the OAC.
The Yellow Jackets were led by freshman 141-pounder Nick Ramsey (Cleveland/Lakewood) who won by major decision 15-5 in his very first OAC and dual match appearance. Ramsey, who joined the team this semester, now has a record of 3-3 after posting a mark of 2-3 at the Waynesburg (Pa.) University Invitational last Saturday.
In addition to Ramsey, freshman 149-pounder Sam McIntosh (South Euclid/Brush) won by a 6-2 decision to pick up his first career OAC victory. McIntosh is now tied for the team lead in wins with a record of 10-8 overall.
BW is back in action this Saturday, January 14 when it will travel to Painesville to take on NCAA Division II Lake Erie College in a non-conference dual match at 7:00 p.m. The next home match is on Tuesday, January 17 when the team will host Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 p.m.
