Baldwin Wallace Wrestling Team Competes In Ashland Harris Open Meet
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University wrestling team competed today (Saturday, November 19, 2011) at the 17th Annual Ashland University Harris Open Meet today (Saturday, November 18, 2011) in the Kates Gymnasium.
The Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore 133-pounder Andrew Taylor (Columbus/Worthington/Kilbourne) captured fifth place by going 3-2 on the day. In addition to Taylor, freshman Tyler Blaine (Worthington/Kilbourne) posted a record of 3-2 in the 184-pound weight class coming one win shy of placing at least sixth.
Also for BW, freshman 174-pounder Sam Recinos (Mount Pleasant, S.C./Wando) captured one win before being knocked out of the tournament. Freshmen Sam McIntosh (South Euclid/Brush) and Eric Gase (Tiffin/Calvert) competed at 149 and 157 weight classes respectively but were unable to post a victory.
BW will travel to Rochester, New York to compete in the Rochester Institute of Technology (N.Y.) Tournament on Saturday December 3 at 9:30 a.m. The next home match is on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 against Cleveland cross-town and Ohio Athletic Conference rival John Carroll University at 7:30 p.m.
