Baldwin-Wallace Wrestlers Finish Ninth at RIT Tournament in Rochester, New York
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team scored 47.5 points to place ninth at the Annual Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament today (Saturday, December 6, 2008) in Rochester, New York.
Individually, senior 133-pounder Brian Bucher (Ottawa Hills/ Avon Lake) and sophomore Andrew Scavuzzo (Cuyahoga Falls/ Woodridge) each placed third and had 4-1 records. In addition, senior 165-pounder Joe Incorvaia (Medina/ Highland) placed sixth with a 3-3 record. Three other Yellow Jackets finished with 2-2 records, including sophomore 125-pounder Tyler Erwin (Granville/ Watkins Memorial), sophomore 141-pounder Phillip Payne (Woodmere/ Orange) and freshman 197-pounder Ryan Tudor (Pataskala (Watkins Memorial).
After five weeks of competition, Bucher tops the team with a 15-3 record. Scavuzzo is second in wins with 12 and has a 12-6 record. Incorvaia is third with nine victories.
The Yellow Jackets are now idle until Tuesday, January 6 when they host Ohio Athletic Conference rival Muskingum College in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium of the Lou Higgins Recreation Center at 7:30 p.m.
