BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team defeated Ohio Athletic Conference foe Wilmington College, 45-6, tonight (Tuesday, January 30, 2007) in the Fred Raizk Arena in Wilmington.
With its victory, the Yellow Jackets improve to 11-10 overall and 3-2 in the OAC while Wilmington fell to 1-7 overall and 0-5 in the OAC.
Leading the way for B-W was junior 141-pounder Chris Hamed (Stow/Woodridge) who pinned Wilmington's Mark Seziol in 2:45 and sophomore 194-pounder Paul Burger (Mentor) who pinned Jon Waggy in 3:20. senior 133-punder Jared Selover (Wapakoneta) defeated Tim Brown, 5-2, junior 165-pounder Gino Russo (Northfield Center/Nordonia) defeated Drew Thomas, 8-6 and senior 285-pounder Bryan Kmetz (Brunswick) defeate Jeremy Clingner, 5-1. Also earning wins by forfeit for the Yellow Jackets were freshman 125-pounder Eric Schubert (Oberlin), sophomore 149-pounder Mohamed Salem (Westlake), junior 174-pounder Jeremy Feador (North Olmsted) and junior 184-pounder Antonio Campea (Hinckley/Parma Padua).
The Yellow Jackets are back in action Saturday, February 3 when they host the 21st Annual John Summa Memorial Invitational. Action gets underway at 10:00 a.m. in the Fieldhouse of the Lou Higgins Center.
