BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team finished with a 2-1 record today (Thursday, January 4, 2007) at the 2007 Wilkes University Duals in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. The Yellow Jackets are now 7-6 overall and return to Ohio Athletic Conference action when they host Ohio Northern University on Jan. 9 in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in The Lou Higgins Center. Both B-W and ONU are
1-1 in OAC matches.
In its first match, B-W lost to Hunter (N.Y.) College, 21-19. Despite the loss, sophomore 133-pounder Brian Bucher (Ottawa Hills/ Avon Lake), sophomore 149-pounder Mohamed Salem (Westlake), sophomore 157-pounder Joe Incorvaia (Hinckley/ Medina Highland), junior All-OAC 165-pounder Gino Russo (Northfield Center/ Nordonia) and sophomore 184-pounder Antonio Campea (Hinckley/ Parma Padua) all won. Salem won by major decision and Campea recorded his first pin of the season.
In its second match, B-W defeated Trinity (Conn.) College, 40-9. Bucher, junior 141-pounder RayShawn Eatmon (East Cleveland/ Shaw), Salem and Incorvaia won their respective matches by forfeit. Russo won his match by major decision while junior 174-pounder Jeremy Feador (North Olmsted) and Campea both recorded pins in their matches.
In its final match the B-W defeated Stevens Institute of Technology (N.J.), 27-18. Freshman 125-pounder Eric Schubert (Oberlin), Bucher, Incorvaia, Feador, Campea and junior 285-pounder Mike Pelton (Parma/ Valley Forge) all won. Feador won by forfeit, Schubert, Bucher and Campea won by decision and Incorvaia and Pelton won on pins.
