Baldwin-Wallace Defeats Mount Union, 21-18, in an Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestling Match
BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling
team defeated Mount Union College, 21-18, tonight (Tuesday,
December 5, 2006) in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet at the
Timken Gymnasium in Alliance.
With its win, B-W improves to 5-4overall and 1-1in the OAC while Mount Union falls to 1-4 overall and 0-1in the OAC.
Earning wins for the Yellow Jackets was freshman Eric Schubert (Oberlin), sophomores Brian Bucher (Toledo) and Joseph Incorvaia (Medina/Highland), and juniors Gino Russo (Northfield Center/Nordonia), Jeremy Feador (North Olmsted) and Mike Pelton (Parma/Valley Forge). Schubert won his 125-pound match by a 2-1 decision over Mount Union's Ryan Peecock. Bucher won his 133-pound match against Eddie Petrosky by decision, 1-0. Incorvaia won by decision, 5-0, over Mike Mannypenny. Russo defeated Scott Vaughn by the score of 4-2 in the 165-pound match. In the 184-pound match, Feador pinned Adam Lange in 3:43. Pelton won a 4-2 decision over John Vagnier in the 285-pound match.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action on Friday, December 8 when they host Notre Dame College at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in the Lou Higgins Center at 7:30 p.m.
