BEREA, OHIO -- The Heidelberg College Student Princes defeated the Baldwin-Wallace College Yellow Jackets, 32-6, in the Ohio Athletic Conference opening dual match for both teams at The Lou Higgins Center and in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
With its win, Heidelberg improved to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the OAC while B-W fell to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
Despite the loss, B-W received wins from sophomore Brian Bucher (Toledo) with a 3-2 win over Spurlock in the 133 lbs. weight class and junior Gino Russo (Northfield Center/ Nordonia) with a sudden victory win in overtime of 4-2 against Maxworthy in the 165 lbs. weight class.
The Yellow Jacket wrestlers will be back in action this Saturday, December 2 when they travel to Rochester, New York to compete at the annual Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament at 9:00 a.m. The next home match is on Friday, Dec. 8 when Notre Dame College visits Berea for an 8:00 match in the Ursprung Gym.
