BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team won two of three matches at the annual Case Western Reserve University Quad Meet in University Circle to open the season on November 11.
The Yellow Jackets defeated both the College of Mt. St. Joseph, 40-8, and Waynesburg (Pa.) College, 42-9, but lost to host Case, 25-20. Highlighting the day for B-W were perfect 3-0 records turned in by sophomore 133-pounder Brian Bucher (Ottawa Hills/ Avon Lake) and junior 174-pounder Jeremy Feador (North Olmsted).
In beating Mt. St. Joseph, B-W received victories from Bucher, sophomore 149-pounder Mohamed Salem (Westlake), sophomore 157-pounder Joe Incorvaia (Medina/ Highland), junior 157/165-pounder Gino Russo (Northfield Center/ Nordonia), Feador, junior 174-pounder Bryan Gulich (Richmond Heights), freshman 184-pounder Travis Sokolow (Avon Lake) and junior 285-pounder Mike Pelton (Parma/ Valley Forge).
In its victory against Waynesburg, Bucher won at 133 pounds, junior RayShawn Eatmon (East Cleveland/ Shaw) won at 141, Salem at 149, Incorvaia at 157, Russo at 165, Feador at 174, Gulich at 184 and Sokolow at 197.
Despite its loss to Case, freshman Eric Schubert (Oberlin) won by technical fall at 125 pounds, Bucher won at 133, Eatmon won by fall at 141 and Feador won at 174.
The Yellow Jacket wrestlers will be back in action on Saturday, November 18 when they travel to Olivet, Michigan to compete at the Olivet College Duals. Action begins at 9:00 a.m.
