Wilmington College at the Urpsrung Gymnasium on Senior's Night
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College senior wrestlers were key, winning five of six individual matches, as the Yellow Jackets defeated Wilmington College, 25-16 in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual match at the Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea on Senior's Night.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-13 overall in dual matches and 1-3 in the OAC. The Quakers fall to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the OAC.
Senior 125-pounder Mike Ham (Concord/ Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) started things off winning by decision against Jamel Buckner, 5-1. Senior 141-pounder Jared Selover (Wapakoneta) pinned Wilmington's Dan Garcia in a time of 4:22. Sophomore 157-pounder Gino Russo (Northfield Center/ Nordonia) defeated Drew Thomas, 7-4, to improve his season win total to a team-leading 23 victories and is now 23-2 overall. Senior Sterling Sebek (Columbus, Ga./ Brookstone) won by major decision, 17-4, against Jeff Lobes. Senior Devin Carman (Ashtabula/ Geneva) won his 197-pound match by decision against Jeremy Clingner, 11-4. Rounding out the B-W winners was senior 285-pounder Bryan Kmetz (Brunswick) who pinned Paul Lewis in a time of
B-W will return to the mat next Tuesday, Jan. 31 when it travels to New Concord to take on the Muskingum College Fighting Muskies. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Muskingum Recreation Center.
