BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin-Wallace College wrestling team was defeated by Ohio Northern University, 21-18, tonight (Tuesday, December 13, 2005) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match at the ONU Sports Center in Ada.
With its loss, B-W falls to 4-5 overall and 0-2 in the OAC while Ohio Northern improves to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the OAC.
Despite the loss for the Yellow Jackets, sophmore Scott Haber (Parma/ Normandy), freshman Mohamed Salem (Westlake), sophomore Gino Russo (Northfield Center/ Nordonia), junior T. Terry (Bedford/ St. Peter Chanel) and junior Bryan Kmetz (Brunswick) all won their individual matches.
Haber won his 141-pound match by decision against ONU's Jason Scarborough, 8-3. Salem won by major decision against Lance Hassell, 12-0. Russo improved to 15-1 on the year with a 7-4 victory. Terry defeated Joe Studer by the score of 3-1 and Kmetz is now a perfect 13-0 with a win against Eric Lee by technical fall, 16-0 in a time of 5:43.
The Yellow Jackets will be off until Wednesday, January 4 when they travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. to compete at the Wilkes University Tournament. B-W then returns home for an OAC match against Cleveland cross-town rival John Carroll University on Tuesday, January 10 at the Ursprung Gymnamsium.
