Ohio Northern University Defeats Baldwin-Wallace College, 31-8, in Berea in the
OAC Opening Match for Each Team
BEREA, OHIO — The Ohio Nortrhern University Polar Bear wrestling team defeated the Baldwin-Wallacec College Yellow Jackets, 31-8, tonight (Tuesday, November 30, 2004) in the Ohio Athletic Conference opener for each team at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
With its win, ONU improves to 1-0 overall and 1-0 in the OAC while B-W falls to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
Despite the loss for the Yellow Jackets, juniors Devin Carmen (Ashtabula/ Geneva) and Brian Kmetz (Brunswick) each won matches. Carmen earned his win by defeating Ohio Northern's Chris Bailey, 8-6. Kmetz defeated Scott Neuenschwander by technical fall, 16-1, with a time of 3:34.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action this Saturday, December 4 when they travel to Rochester, New York to compete at the annual Rochester Institute of Technology Tournament. Action begins at 9:30 a.m.
