Men's Basketball
Baldwin-Wallace senior post Thad Davis (Elyria/Open Door) tallied 53 points, 23 rebounds, six blocks and two steals in two games last week. Davis was 22-of-33 from the floor (.670), including 14-of-17 from the field in a win against Marietta.
Mount Union junior center Kyle Karpinski (Amherst) averaged 30.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in two contests last week. Karpinski tallied a career-high 33 points in the Purple Raiders win against Marietta. Karpinski also added three assists on the week.
Women's Basketball
Baldwin-Wallace junior point guard Nikki Altenweg (Perry) shot .632 from the field last week, connecting on 12-of-19 shots. She was 6-of-8 from the three-point line. She had a career-high 18 points in both Yellow Jacket wins last week (against John Carroll and Marietta). Altenweg also pulled down seven rebounds, had six steals and three assists.
Wrestling
Ohio Northern senior 149-pounder Nathan Shearer (Clyde) went a perfect 6-0 last week, including a 5-0 mark at the Lycoming (PA) Duals, helping ONU to a seventh place finish. Shearer won four matches by decision and two by major decision, including a 10-5 victory over #4-ranked Dan Whelan of Norwich (VT).
Men's Swimming
Baldwin-Wallace freshman Dave Fournier (Toledo/St. John's) won both the 50 freestyle (22.36 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (50.03 seconds) en route to helping B-W to a 144-54 win against Erie.
Women's Swimming
Baldwin-Wallace freshman Ambica Iyengar (India) won two individual events, the 200 freestyle (2:01.62) and 200 breaststroke (2:40.27), and swam on the winning 400 medley relay (4:20.99) team in her first collegiate meet.
