The Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Ties for Sixth at the Otterbein
College Tournament in Columbus
BEREA, OHIO
-- The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s golf team finished in a tie for sixth of 10 teams today (April 9-10) at the two-day and 36-hole Otterbein College Invitational Tournament in Greater Columbus.The Yellow Jackets carded a two-day total of 778 strokes and tied for sixth with OAC rival Capital University. B-W had a first day total of 389 strokes at the Little Turtle Country Club course and had the same 389 team total on the second day
at the New Albany Links course in New Albany, Ohio. Host Otterbein won the event.Leading the way for B-W was sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) who fired rounds of 90 at Little Turtle and an 88 at New Albany links for a 178-stroke total. She was followed by senior All-OAC player Lauren Buckner (Westlake) with rounds of 94 and a season-best 92 for a 186-stroke total, freshman Lydia Cole (East Canton) with rounds of 101 and a season-best 93 for a 194-stroke total and freshman Simone Short (Toledo/ Whitmer) with rounds of 113 and 116. Junior All-OAC player Sarah Hacker (New Albany, Ind./ Our Lady of Providence) carded a first-day 104 at Little Turtle but was unable to compete today due to an academic (student teaching) requirement.
Following tomorrow's second round at Otterbein, the Yellow Jacket women will be idle until they play at the Muskingum College Invitational on April 19 in New Concord.
