Alyson Campbell '08 is now in her second year as Head Women's Golf Coach and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach in 2010-11. Campbell, a native of Salem, Ohio, is a former student-athlete at BW when she carried the maiden name of Alyson Cotter.
Campbell returns to her alma mater after spending the past two years as an assistant coach at Padua High School and serving as a aerobics, fitness and wellness professional.
Campbell took over a women's golf program that returned its entire roster from last spring and inherits a team that has already earned two tournament victories as well as two other top three finishes this fall and currently owns a 36-4 record. She also joined Yellow Jacket women's basketball program that has reached the Division III NCAA Tournament 11 times in the past 15 seasons.
In Campbell's first season, the golf team posted an outstanding record of 83-18 as the Yellow Jackets won the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament. Campbell coached five athletes that placed in the Top-15 at the OAC Tournament and each received All-OAC accolades. Upon winning the OAC tournament, BW earned a bid to play in the NCAA Division III National Championship (72 holes) where they placed 15th. .
While at BW, Campbell earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management and was a two-year standout on a pair of Harrer teams that won OAC titles. As a freshman in 2004-2005, she played in all 29 games for the 23-6 overall Yellow Jackets as they captured the OAC regular season and OAC Tournament titles and advanced to the 2005 NCAA Division III National Tournament. As a sophomore in 2005-2006, Campbell appeared in all 32 contests for the Jackets as they compiled a 27-5 mark, won the OAC regular season title and advanced to the "Elite Eight" of the NCAA tourney. During her two years on the varsity, Campbell scored 357 points, grabbed 185 rebounds, passed for 42 assists, blocked 35 shots and made 38 steals. Following the 2005-2006 season, Campbell left the program to study abroad in Australia in 2006-2007.
In addition, Campbell to excelling on the basketball court at BW, she was a Dean's List student and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She also was a Freshman Orientation Leader, the Secretary of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a member of the Sport Management Club.
While at Salem High School, Campbell was a four-sport student-athlete in basketball, golf, soccer and track and earned nine varsity letters. She was named All-Metro Athletic Conference (MAC) on six occasions, a four-time All-Columbia County selection and was tabbed All-District on three occasions. In addition, Campbell was selected as the MAC Player of the Year for basketball during her senior campaign.
Campbell and her husband, Devon, reside in Bay Village.
