Yellow Jacket Women's Golfers Place Second at the Three-Team Yellow Jacket Invitational

BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team placed second of three teams today at the annual Yellow Jacket Invitational Tournament, held this year at the Pine Hills Golf Course in Hinckley.

Otterbein Cllege won the team title with 361 strokes and was followed by B-W with 408 and Capital University was third with 450 strokes.

For the Yellow Jackets, freshman Lauren Buckner (Westlake) led the team with a 15-over-par 87 on the par-72, 5,800-yard Pine Hills layout.  Buckner finished third individually behind medalist Kiki Koehl of Otterbein, who shot an 83, and Capital's Julie Huffman, who cared an 86.

In addition for B-W, freshman Emily Scheetz (Massillon Perry) was second on the team with a 93 and tied for fifth individually.  Also, freshman Jessica Graham (Avon Lake) carded a 105 and placed ninth and junior Karissa Kusick (Chicora, Pa./ Karns City) had a 123 to rank 12th.

The Yellow Jacket women will be back in action this Thursday and Friday, May 1-2, at the 2003 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament in the Fowler's Mills Golf Course in Chesterland, Ohio.
