The Women's Golf Team Placed 3rd at the Capital University Invitational
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team finishes third of 12 teams at the two-day, 36-hole 2004 Capital University Purple & White Golf Tournament at the Foxfire Country Club in Lockborne, Ohio. To view all of today's results, please click here.
The Yellow Jackets carded a first day team total of 370 strokes and stood fourth overall. Today, B-W carded a solid score of 353 strokes and finished third behind team champion Wilmington College and second place finisher Otterbein College.
Individually for the Yellow Jackets, freshman Tara Wetherelt (Stockton, Calif./ Franklin) carded rounds of 89 and 82 for a two-day, 36-hole total of 171 strokes to finish fourth individually on the par-72, 6,205-yard Foxfire Course layout. She was followed by freshman Kylee Ehinger (Roanoke, Ind./ Bishop Luers) with rounds of 95 and 86 for a two-day total of 181 strokes to place in a tie for 13th individually. In addition, sophomore All-OAC player Lauren Buckner (Westlake) carded rounds of 93 and 97 for a 190 total to tie for 21st, and sophomore All-OAC player Emily Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) and freshman Sarah Hacker (New Albany, Ind./ Our Lady of Providence) each had scores of 191 to place in a tie for 24th. Hacker had rounds of 103 and 88. Scheetz had rounds of 93 and 98. Hacker's 88 on the second day was the third best score 18-hole of the weekend for B-W.
Playing as individuals were freshman Kelly Gallaway (Ashland Senior) and senior Lindsay Light (Ft. Wayne, Ind.). Gallaway tied with Buckner for 21st overall with scores of 96 and 94 for a 190 total. Light shots rounds of 99 and 106.
The Yellow Jackets will return to action on Thursday, April 8 when they participate in the annual Ohio Northern University Invitational Tournament in Ada, Ohio.
