Yellow Jacket Women's Golf Team Finishes in Third Place at the Defiance Jon Speiss Tournament

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team finished third of five schools today at the Defiance College Invitational Tournament at the Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon, Ohio.
Albion (Mich.) College won the team title with 315 strokes and Albion golfer Anna Watkins was the individual champion as she fired a 76 on the par-74, 5,885-yard Ironwood layout. Northwood (Mich.) was second with 344 strokes and followed by B-W at 383, Manchester (Ind.) at 387 and host Defiance with a 403 total.
The Yellow Jacket women were led by freshman Lauren Buckner (Westlake High School) with an 86. She was followed by freshman Emily Scheetz (Canton Perry H.S.) with an 89, junior Lindsay Light (Ft. Wayne, Indiana/ Concordia Lutheran H.S.) with a 93, freshman Jessica Graham (Avon Lake H.S.) with a 115 and sophomore Tricia Douglass (Geneva H.S.) with a 124.
Following two tournaments and three rounds of 18 holes, Scheetz currently tops the team in stroke average at 89.67 strokes. Buckner is second at 90.33 overall.
The Yellow Jackets will next play on Saturday, September 28 at the Capital University Invitational at the Foxfire Golf Course in Lockborne, Ohio.
