Baldwin-Wallace College Women’s Golf Team Finishes Eighth at the Capital Tournament
BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s golf team finished eighth of 17 teams at the Capital University Purple & White Tournament at the Foxfire Golf Club in Lockbourne, Ohio. This was the first spring tournament of the season for B-W.
The Yellow Jackets carded a total of 390 strokes on the first day of competition on the Players Club course (par-72 and 5,975 yards) and had a 393-stroke total on the second day on the Foxfire Course (par-72 and 6,053 yards). Individually for B-W, senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) led the way by carding rounds of 87 and 88 for a 175-stroke total to tie for 13th place overall of 88 total golfers. She was followed by junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) with rounds of 98 amd 98 for a 196 total to place 40th, senior Karli Townsend (Malvern) had rounds of 101 and 100 for a 201-stroke total to place 48th and senior Shelly McKinney (Malvern) had rounds of 104 and 107 for a 211 total to place 56th.
The Yellow Jackets will return to Berea and begin to prepare to play at the Ohio Northern University Tournament next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13 at the Colonial Golf Club in Harrod, Ohio.
