Women's Golf

BEREA, OHIO — The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished with a two-total of 787-strokes (400-387) to finish third today (Sunday, April, 27, 2008)at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Chamionship hosted by Ohio Northern University at the par-72, 5,912-yard Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio.

The Yellow Jackets were led by senior Molly Scheetz (Canton/Perry) who earned All-Tournament honors as she finished tied for fourth place after carding a 173 (87-86).  After the tournament the Conference coaches' named All-OAC selections and Scheetz was named to the Second Team and became a four-time All-OAC honoree.

In addition to Scheetz, junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) carded a 192 (99-93) to finish 15th, senior Shelly McKinney (Malvern) had a 203 (103-100) to finish tied for 19th and junior Simone Short (Toledo/Whittmer) had a 219 (111-108) to finish 30th

Otterbein College won the chamionship with a 689 (352-337) and earned the OAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Chamionship to be played May 13-16 at Centennial Oaks Golf Club in Waverly, Iowa.  Host Ohio Northern finished second after posting a 707 (362-345).  John Carroll University's Amanda Shannon won individual medalist honors as she posted a 161 (83-78).
