B-W Women's Golf Team Stands Third After First Day of OAC Tournament
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s golf teams stands in third place after the first day of competition at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Golf Tournament at the Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio. The second day of compedtition takes place tomorrow, Sunday, April 27.
Fans can access the OAC Women’s Golf Web site and receive LIVE scoring at www.onu.sports.com/WGolf/oac08/index.html. The Yellow Jackets totalled 400 strokes and trail first place Otterbein College and second place and host Ohio Northern University heading into the final day of competition.
Individually for B-W, senior No.1 and three-time All-OAC player Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) had the top Yellow Jacket round with an 87 on the par-72 and 5,912-yard Colonial Golfers Club layout to tie for third place individually. In addition to Scheetz, junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) carded a 99, junior Shelly McKinney (Malvern) shot a 103 and junior Simone Short (Toledo Whitmer) who shot a 111.
The winner of the OAC Tournament receives the OAC’s automatic berth to next week’s NCAA Division III National Tournament.
