Three Golfers Have Career-Lows as the Baldwin-Wallace Women's Golf Team Places Third at Wilmington
BEREA, OHIO -- Three Baldwin-Wallace College women golfers have career-lows as the Yellow Jackets shot a season-low 354 today (Sunday, September 30, 2007) to finish third at the Wilmington College Invitational at the Majestic Springs Golf Club in Wilmington, Ohio.
Junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) paced the Yellow Jackets with a career-low 83 to finish tied for sixth place. Also having career rounds was senior Karli Townsend (Malvern) with a 90 to finish tied for 19th place and fellow senior Rochelle McKinney (Malvern) with a 95 to finish tied for 28th place. Senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference player Molly Sheetz (Canton/Perry) fired an 86 to finish is 11th place. Junior Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) rounded out the Yellow Jacket scoring with a 107 and a 39th place finish.
16th-ranked Otterbein College fired a 320 to win the team championship and defending OAC champions, Ohio Northern University finished in second after posting a 320. Otterbein's Natalie King won individual medalist honors with a 75.
The Yellow Jackets return to the links next Sunday (Oct. 7) when they travel to Table Rock Golf Club in Centerburg, Ohio to play in the Otterbein Fall Invitational.
