Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Finishes Fifth at the Ohio Northern Fall Invitational
BEREA, OHIO --- The Baldwin-Wallace women's golf team shot a 383 to finish fifth of 11 teams today (Sunday, September 23, 2007) at the Ohio Northern University Invitational Tournament at the Lost Creek Country Club in Lima.
Individually, the Yellow Jackets were led by senior Molly Scheetz (Canton/Perry) who carded an 89 to finish tied for fouth place and was named to the All-Tournament Team. Scheetz was followed by junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) in a tie for 18th place with a 94, senior Rochelle McKinney (Malvern) in a tie for 30th place with a 98, junior Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) in 40th place with a 102 and senior Karli Townsend (Malvern) in a tie for 48th with a 110.
Two Yellow Jackets played as individuals and they were freshman Sam Migalski (Monahwkin, N.J./Southern Regional) in a tie for 36th place with a 101 and freshman Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) in a tie for 62nd place with a 135.
Host Ohio Northern won the team event with a 356 followed by St. Fancis (Ind.) University with a 364, Siena Heights (Mich.) University with a 365, Urbana University and B-W to round out the top-five. Individually Siena Heights' Kelly Sawyer won medalist honors after posting an 80.
The Yellow Jackets return to the links on next Sunday (Sept. 30) when they travel to Majestic Springs Golf Club in Wilmington to play in the Wilmington College Fall Invitational.
