Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Finishes Seventh at the John Carroll Invitational

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team shot a 390 and placed seventh of eight teams at the 2007 John Carroll University Fall Invitational Tournament today (Saturday, October 14) at the par-70 and 5,945-yard Fowler's Mill Golf Course in Chesterland.  This was the final fall tournament for the Yellow Jackets.
 
Leading the way for B-W was senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference player and two-time National Golf Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete recipient Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry), who carded an 87. She was followed by senior Karli Townsend (Malvern) with a 97, senior Rochelle McKinney (Malvern) with a 100,  junior Lydia Cole (East Canton)  with a 106 and junior Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) with a 112.  In addition and playing as individuals, freshman Sam Migalski (Monahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) shot a 112 and freshman Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) had a 133.
 
Otterbein College won the team title with 340.  Rounding out the top-three was Ohio Northern University in second with a 342 and host John Carroll in third with a 376.  JCU's Amanda Shannon won individual medalist honors after she beat ONU's Meagan Brennan in a scorecard playoff after each golfer posted a round of 79.
 
The 2007-2008 season will resume next spring when B-W will play in five or six more tournaments, including the 2008 OAC Championship Tournament with an NCAA Division III National Tournament berth in the line.
