The Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Finishes Ninth at the Capital University Invitational
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team shot a second round 385 for a two-day total of 774 (389-385) to finish ninth at the Capital University Purple and White Invitational at the Foxfire Golf Club in Lockbourne.
Junior Molly Sheetz (Canton/Perry) paced the Yellow Jackets as she finished fifth individual after posting a 167 (83-84).
Following Sheetz was sophomore Lydia Cole (East Canton) finished tied for 44th with a 193 (94-99), sophomore Karli Townsend (Malvern) finished tied for 59th carding a 208 (102-106), sophomore Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) finished 67th with a 214 (118-96) and sophomore Rochelle McKinney (Malvern) finished 70th after posting a 218 (110-108). Senior Sarah Hacker (New Albany, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) played in only the final round and posted a 100 on Saturday.
Nationally ranked DePauw (Ind.) University won the team title with a 654 (319-335). Individally Depauw's Sarah Gates needed two playoff holes to win Medalist honors after posting a 162 (80-82).
The Yellow Jackets are idle until Wednesday, April 11, 2007 when they competed in the 18-hole Wittenberg University Invitational at the Windy Knolls Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio.
