Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Finished Fourth at the Yellow Jacket Invitational
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s golf team shot a 363 to finish fourth of nine teams today (Sunday, September 16, 2007) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational Tournament at the Mallard Creek Golf Course in Columbia Station.
Individually for the Yellow Jackets, junior Lydia Cole (East Canton) led the way with a team-low, 86 stroke performance. Senior Molly Scheetz (Canton/Perry) finished behind Cole at 89 strokes, followed by senior Karli Townsend (Malvern) with 92, and junior Simone Short (Toledo/Whitmer) and senior Rochelle McKinney (Malvern), who had 96 strokes each.
Freshmen Sam Migalski (Monahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) and Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) tallied 111 and 125 strokes, respectively, but were not included in the team scoring as they did not get the start.
Otterbein College was the champion, finishing with 321 total strokes, followed by Ohio Northern University (337) and John Carroll University (355). Individually, Ohio Northern's Meagan Brenna earned medalist honors after she tied John Carroll's Amanda Shannon with a 78 and then beat Shannon on a scorecard playoff.
The Yellow Jacket golfers are back in action next Sunday, Sept. 23 when they compete in the Ohio Northern Invitational at the Lost Creek Country Club in Lima.
