The Baldwin-Wallace College Women's Golf Team Finishes Third at the OAC Tournament

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women’s golf team finished third of eight teams at the 2006 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament at the Majestic Springs Golf Course in Wilmington, Ohio. Wilmington College was the host school.

The Yellow Jackets carded a total of 374 strokes on the first day (April 22) and had a season-low 357 total strokes today (April 23) for a 731 total in the two-day and 36-hole tournament. In addition, the third place finish by the Yellow Jackets was a season-best.

B-W was led by sophomore Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) who fired rounds of 89 on the first day and a team season-low round of 79 on the second day to total 168 strokes to place fifth individually and earn All-OAC accolades for the second straight year. Scheetz was joined on the All-OAC team by junior Sarah Hacker (New Albany, Ind./ Our Lady of Providence) who carded rounds of 89 on the first day and tied her season-low of 88 on the second day for a 177-stroke total to tie for 10th individually.

In addition to the two-time All-OAC duo of Scheetz and Hacker, freshman Lydia Cole (East Canton) placed 21st individually with rounds of 98 and a season-low-tying 93 for a 191 total, senior All-OAC player Lauren Buckner (Westlake) ended her career by placing 25th individually as she fired rounds of 98 and 97 for a 195-stroke total, and freshman Simone Short (Toledo/ Whitmer) was 32nd individually with rounds of 103 and 104 for a 207-stroke total.
