The Yellow Jacket Women's Golf Team Finishes Second at the 2005 Ohio Athletic

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College women's golf team placed second of eight schools at the 2005 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at the Big Met Golf Course in Fairview Park, Ohio. B-W was the host school.
The Yellow Jackets carded a four-player, 708-stroke total on the par-72, 5,828-yard Big Met layout, including a 658-stroke total on the first day and a 650-stroke total on the second day. Each team consists of five players who score with the top four scores counting toward the team total.
B-W was led by freshman Molly Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) who placed third individually and fired rounds of 88 and a career-best 82 to total 170 strokes and earn All-OAC accolades. Sophomore Sarah Hacker (New Albany, Indiana/ Our Lady of Providence) finished second for B-W and carded rounds of 84 and 88 strokes, respectively for a 172-stroke total and was in a fifth place tie and earned All-OAC honors for the second straight year.
In addition to Molly Scheetz and Hacker, junior two-time All-OAC player Emily Scheetz (Canton/ Perry) had a 182-stroke total to place in a tie for 15th, junior All-OAC player Lauren Buckner (Westlake) had rounds of 100 and then 90 for a 190 total to place 25th and senior Mary Farrell (Middleburg Heights/ Parma Heights Holy Name) had rounds of 94 and 103 for a 197-stroke total to place 30th.
Otterbein College carded rounds of 358 and 328 for a two-day and 36-hole total of 686 strokes to defend its title. Otterbein's Colleen Groomes was the individual medalist with rounds of 83 and 77 for a 160-stroke total. Otterbein's Chelsea Thresher was second with 169 strokes.
