Qualifies for All-American Team Selection
BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior wolmen's basketball player Erika Schultz (Waterville/ Anthony Wayne High School) has been named as a first-team All-Great Lakes Region player by the WBCA/ Kodak All-American Selection Committee. Schultz is one of 40 players, five from each of the eight regions of Division III, who now qualify for selection to the 2004 WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association)/ Kodak All-American team. Schultz recently ended an outstanding four-year career as a Yellow Jacket. Highlighting her awards was being tabbed as the Helen Ludwig Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year by a vote of the OAC Coaches. She scored 1,059 points to rank eighth all-time at B-W and had 738 rebounds to rank fourth. The health and physical education major who carries a 3.769 grade point average and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District IV third-team and unanimous first-team Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference pick. As a senior, Schultz averaged 14.0 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, 23-4 overall. She also shot 54.8 percent from the floor and 74 percent from the foul line. During her brilliant four-year career, Schultz helped B-W compile a 94-19 record with two OAC regular season titles, one OAC Tournament crown and at least two NCAA Division III national tourney appearances, including an "Elite Eight" finish as a freshman.
