BEREA, OHIO -- The 3-0 Baldwin-Wallace College women's basketball team moved from 22nd to 15th in the latest d3hoops.com Division III national rankings this week. To view the entire poll, please click here.
The Yellow Jacket women opened the 2003-2004 season by beating both Notre Dame College of Ohio, 78-60, and Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 69-57, to capture the title at the Third Annual Greater Cleveland College Tournament. Last Tuesday (Nov. 25), B-W won its third straight game as it beat traditional arch-rival Wittenberg University, 77-62, in Springfield. B-W does not play a home game until December 17 when it hosts OAC rival Mount Union College at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium.
To date, sophomore forward Lindsay Mamula (Canton Jackson) leads the team in scoring at 18.3 points per game and she is second in rebounding with 5.0 rpg. and first in field goal shooting at 69 percent (20 of 29). Senior forward Erika Schultz (Waterville/ Anthony Wayne) is second in scoring at 16.7 ppg. and first with 8.7 rpg. She led B-W at Wittenberg with a game-high 19 points and 13 rebounds and is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. In addition, junior guard Stephanne Musser (Miamisburg) is third in scoring at 10.7 ppg. and first with four thre-pointers.
The Yellow Jacket women will be back in action this Thursday, December 4, when they travel to Grove City, Pennsylvania to play Grove City College at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, B-W opens OAC play in Westerville against Otterbein College at 3:00 p.m.
