Perry Grad Nikki Altenweg is All-Region, Waits to See if She's an All-American

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior three-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC point guard Nikki Altenweg has been named to the five-member Division III All-Great Lakes Region team by the WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association).  She is one of 40 Division III players in the nation to be tabbed All-Region.  Of the 40 members named All-Region, 10 will be chosen to the select WBCA Kodak/ USA Today Division III All-America team that will be announced this weekend at the Division III Final Four in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Altenweg, a math education major with a 3.53 grade point average who wants to teach and coach following graduation, led B-W in five statistical categories, including scoring (10.4 points per game), assists (86), steals (78), three-point field goals made (30) and three-point field goal percentage (46.2 percent).  Altenweg shot 48.1 percent from the field (113-of-235) and 77.8 percent (77-of-97) from the free-throw line.  She ended her career third all-time in school history in steals with 237 and assists with 358.  Altenweg also had 896 career points and 331 career rebounds.
