BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College senior women's basketball point guard Nikki Altenweg, a Perry High School graduate, has been named as a Division III honorable mention All-American by the WBCA (Women's Basketball Coaches Association). It is the cap to an outstanding four-year career.
Altenweg led B-W in five statistical categories, including scoring (10.4 points per game), assists (86), steals (78), three-point field goals made (30) and three-point field goal percentage (46.2 percent). Altenweg shot 48.1 percent from the field (113-of-235) and 77.8 percent (77-of-97) from the free-throw line. She ended her career third all-time in school history in steals with 237 and assists with 358. Altenweg also had 896 career points and 331 career rebounds.
This season, Altenweg led B-W to a 27-5 overall record, to an Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title and to the "Elite Eight" of the 2006 NCAA Division III National Tournament.
