3-0, at the 2005 Wittenberg Fall Classic
SPRINGFIELD, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team falls to host Wittenbreg University at the 2005 Wittenberg Fall Classic.
With the loss the Yellow Jackets drop to 20-10 overall and 2-1 in tournament play, while Wittenberg improves to 26-4 overall and 3-0 in tournament play. B-W lost by scores of 20-30, 23-30, and 18-30.
Leading the Yellow Jackets offensively was sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hils (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) with nine kills. Junior setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded 29 set assists. Freshman middle hitter Maria DePeters (Buffalo, N.Y./ Mt. Saint Mary Academy) recorded a team hight of three service aces.
Defensively, sophomore libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) recorded 15 digs, followed by Hills with 12 and senior All-OAC rightside hitter Emily Albanese (Mentor) with 11. Sophomore middle hitter Betsy Gilbert (Mansfield/ Senior) led the team in total blocks with five (one solo and four assists) and was followed by DePeters with three (one solo and two assists).
The Yellow Jackets continue their tournament play this afternoon (Oct. 29) when they play The College of Wooster at 3:30 p.m. to conclude their tournament play.
