BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace volleyball team lost 3-1 (30-28, 23-30, 21-30, 22-30) to No.2 NCAA Division III nationally ranked Trinity (Texas) University on day one of the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 5-5 on the year with the loss. Senior three-time All-OAC and two-time All-Great Lakes Region middle hitter Cassie Palmer (Greenwich/ South Central) and two-time All-OAC and 2002 All-Great Lakes Region outside hitter Emily Bowen (Tiffin/Columbian) tied for a team-leading 15 kills. Palmer also tied with teammate Angie Elser (Wooster/Northwestern) for a team-leading two service aces. Freshman Kristin Habegger (Oregon) had a team-leading 47 set assists and Kim Stoll (Norwalk/St. Paul) led the team in digs with 32 followed by Kari Kuhn (Amherst/Steele) and Emily Bowen (Tiffin/Columbian) who had 23 and 22 digs respectively.
B-W will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 20 with its first game beginning at 12:30 p.m. against Washington (Mo.) University followed by game three against Juniata College at 3 p.m. on day two of the Washington University Invitational.
