Washington (Mo.) University Invitational
BEREA, OHIO -- The 20th nationally ranked Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Principia (Ill.) College 3-0 (30-22, 30-26, 30-20) in St. Louis at the Washington (Mo.) University Invitational.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets improved to 20-3 overall and 5-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while Principia (Ill.) fell to 15-3 overall.
Leading the Yellow Jackets offensively was sophomore middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary's Academy) with nine kills. Senior All-American setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) tallied 31 set assists. Defensively, junior libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) led the way with 20 digs and sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) had 14. The leading blocker was sophomore middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) with six.
The Yellow Jackets continue play later today (Oct. 7) when they take on Fontbonne (Mo.) College at
12:15 p.m. CST. The team will return home on Tuesday, October 10 to take on nationally ranked and OAC rival Ohio Northern University in Ursprung Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
