Match at The College of Mount St. Joseph Invitational
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated nationally ranked Ohio Northern University 3-0 (30-24, 30-20, 30-27) to win The College of Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
With its win, B-W improves to 17-2 overall and 4-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference while ONU falls to 14-7 overall and 2-0 in the OAC.
Offensively, junior All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) led the team with 12 kills and three service aces, while teammate sophomore middle hitter Brooke Hinkle (Wellington) had 10 kills. Senior All-American setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/ St. Paul) recorded a team high of 29 set assists.
Defensively, junior libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/ Senior) led the team with 15 digs. In addition to Marten, freshman defensive specialist Kenzie Martin (Centerburg) contributed 12 digs, sophomore All-OAC outside hitter Rachel Selgo (Grand Rapids, Mich./ West Catholic) added 11 and Hills rounded out the top four with 10. Leading the team in blocks was Camp with five blocks and sophomore middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./ Mount St. Mary's Academy) with four.
The Yellow Jackets continue conference play Tuesday, Oct. 3 when they host OAC rival Heidelberg in the Ursprung Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
