Yellow Jackets Defeat Cross-Town Rival Case Western Reserve in Straight Sets

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Cleveland cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 3-0 (30-24, 30-22, 30-19), tonight in Berea.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-2 for the season while CWRU falls to 3-6.

Senior middle hitter Laura Leach (Norwalk/ Senior) led the way for B-W with 18 kills and was followed closely by freshman Kelsey Hills (Toledo/ St. Ursula Academy) with 17.  Freshman Nicole Igarashi (Eastlake/ North) continued her impressive play with 46 set assists.  Sophomore Kim Stoll (Norwalk/ St. Paul) led the team in digs with 20.

The Yellow Jackets will return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 18 when they travel to Hiram for the Hiram Tri-Match.  While there, B-W will face Hiram College at 1:00 p.m. followed by LaRoche (Pa.) College at 3:00 p.m.
