Volleyball Team Defeats Cross-Town Rival Case Western Reserve University, 3-0

BEREA, OHIO-- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University, 3-0, tonight (Sept. 13) in Ursprung Gymnasium.  The Yellow Jackets improve to 8-1 overall, while Case Western Reserve dropped to 1-8.

The Yellow Jackets won the match 3-0, (30-20, 30-9, 34-32).  Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy) led the team with 13 kills and sophomore Maria DePeters (Williamsville N.Y./Mt. St. Mary Academy) contributed nine kills.  Senior All-American setter Angie Camp (Norwalk/St. Paul) added 26 set-assists for the Yellow Jackets. 

Defensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by junior Meggie Marten (Bowling Green) with 20 digs and Camp with 10. DePeters led the team in total blocks with five (one solo and four assisted) and Hills had three solo blocks and freshman Kristen Dix (Gibsonburg) had three assisted blocks.

The Yellow Jackets next match will be Sept. 16 when they host OAC rival Muskingum College at 1:00 p.m. in Ursprung Gynasium.
