Volleyball wins at Wilmington, 3-0
BEREA, OHIO -- The 15th-ranked Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team improved to 23-4 overall and 5-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-0 victory against Wilmington College today in Wilmington, Ohio. The scores of the match were 30-18, 30-7 and 30-19. The victory was the seventh straight for B-W.
Leading the way for the Yellow Jacket offense was junior two-time All-OAC middle hitter Cassie Palmer (Greenwich/ South Central H.S.) with 13 kills. Both senior outside hitter Sarah Gordon (Wooster/ Senior H.S.) and sophomore middle hitter Laura Leach (Norwalk/ Senior H.S.) each contributed 10 kills. Setting up the offense was junior All-OAC setter Kerry Helm (Luckey/ Eastwood H.S.) as she had 22 assists and her backup, junior Angie Elser (Wooster/ Northwestern H.S.), had 12 assists.
On defense, senior All-OAC libero Kate Kost (Fairview Park/ Fairview H.S.) led the way with 16 defensive digs. Helm followed with 7 defensive digs.
B-W will next be in action on Tuesday, October 22 when it travels across town to University Heights, Ohio to play OAC foe and cross-town rival John Carroll University in an OAC match at 7:00 p.m.
