Yellow Jacket Volleyball Team Defeats DePauw, But Fell to Mt. St. Joseph

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team finished with a 2-2 record this weekend at the College of Mt. St. Joseph Tournament in Cincinnati.  Today, the Yellow Jackets fell MSJ, 24-30, 23-30, 21-30 and then defeated DePauw (Ind.) College, 33-31, 30-16, 30-15.

Against MSJ, senior outside hitter Sarah Gordon (Wooster Senior High School) and junior middle hitter Cassie Palmer (Greenwich South Central H.S.) had 10 and nine kills, respectively.  Gordon also led the B-W defense with 14 digs and junior Kerry Helm (Luckey Eastwood H.S.) added 14 set assists.

In the win against DePauw, junior rightside hitter Emily Bowen (Tiffin Columbian H.S.) had a team-high 13 kills and .600 hitting percentage.  She was followed by Gordon with 11 and Palmer with 10.   Senior Kate Kost (Fairview Park H.S.) contributed 27 defensive digs.  Helm added 27 set assists.

B-W will remain idle until this Friday-Saturday, September 6-7, when it hosts the Fifth Annual Marcia French Memorial Tournament at the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
