B-W Volleyball Team Defeats Case Western Reserve, 30-20, 30-18, 30-19

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team ran its winning streak to 10 straight matches tonight as it defeated cross-town rival Case Western Reserve University in the Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea, 3-0.  The scores of the match were 30-20, 30-18 and 30-19.  B-W is now 11-2 overall and next play on Saturday at home against Otterbein College in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener at 1:00 p.m.

In beating CWRU tonight, senior outside hitter Sarah Gordon (Wooster Senior High School) led all hitters with 16 kills and was followed by junior All-OAC middle hitter Cassie Palmer (Greenwich/ South Central H.S.) with 14 and junior rightside player Emily Bowen (Tiffin Columbian H.S.) with 11.  Junior backup setter Angie Elser (Wooster/ Northwestern H.S.) had 24 assists to set up the offense and junior All-OAC starting setter Kerry Helm (Luckey/ Eastwood H.S.) had 23 assists in two games before giving way to Elser.  Senior All-OAC libero Kate Kost (Fairview Park H.S.) led the defense with 15 defensive digs.  In addition, junior middle hitter Laura Leach (Norwalk H.S.) had the most blocks with four.
