BEREA, OHIO – The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team lost 3-2 to visiting Capital University this afternoon (Saturday, October 10, 2009) at Ursprung Gymnasium in Berea.
With the loss, the Yellow Jackets fall to 3-20 overall and 0-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Crusaders improve to 14-9 and 3-0 in the OAC.
Capital defeated the Jackets by scores of 25-21, 20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 12-15.
Offensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by both junior Abbey Thompson (Lorain/ Clearview) and freshman Emily Dvorak (Westlake) each having 15 kills. Junior setter Casey Passen (Ashville/Teays Valley) led the Yellow Jackets with 49 assist.

Defensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by Passen with 20 digs. Dvorak and sophomore Danielle Gerwin (Bowling Green) each had an additional 17 digs each and freshman Alex Gbur (Toledo/ Central Catholic) had 16 digs as well. Also, freshman Becky Palivoda (Burton/ Cornerstone Christian Academy) totaled eight blocks.
The Yellow Jackets are back this Tuesday, October 13 with an OAC match at nationally-ranked Heidelberg University at 7:00 p.m. in Tiffin.
