Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Team Defeats Otterbein College, 3-0, in OAC Action in Berea

BEREA, OHIO --  The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team defeated Otterbein College, 3-0, tonight (Tuesday, October 16, 2007) in an Ohio Athletic Conference match in the Rudolph Ursprung Gymnasium at the Lou Higgins Center in Berea.  B-W won by the scores of 30-25, 30-25 and 30-18.

With the win, Baldwin-Wallace improves to 15-11 overall and 4-3 in the OAC, while Otterbein falls to 4-22 overall and 1-4 in the OAC. 

The Yellow Jackets were led offensively by senior All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy) with 17 kills and two service aces while junior middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./Mount St. Mary Academy) finished with nine kills.  Senior three-year starting libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green) had three service aces and freshman setter Casey Passen (Ashville/Teays Valley) totaled 34 set assists. 

Defensively, B-W was led by Marten with team-high 15 digs and followed by Hills with 13 .

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday (Oct. 20) when they travel to New Concord, Ohio to play Muskingum College at 1:00 p.m. in the Recreation Center.
