Baldwin-Wallace College Volleyball Team Falls, 3-0, to Nationally Ranked Ohio Northern University
BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College volleyball team fell, 3-0, to No. 12-ranked Ohio Northern University in an Ohio Athletic Conference match tonight (Tuesday, October 9, 2007) in Ada. Ohio Northern won the match by the scores of 30-21, 33-31 and 30-28.
With the loss, Baldwin-Wallace drops to 13-11 overall and 2-3 in the OAC, while Ohio Northern improves to 18-4 overall and remains undefeated at 4-0 in the OAC.
The Yellow Jackets were led offensively by senior All-OAC outside hitter Kelsey Hills (Toledo/St. Ursula Academy) with 15 kills and junior middle hitter Maria DePeters (Williamsville, N.Y./Mt. St. Mary Academy) with 12 kills. Freshman setter Casey Passen (Ashville/Teays Valley) totaled 35 set assists while senior three-year starting libero Meggie Marten (Bowling Green/Senior) had four service aces.
Defensively, B-W was led by Hills with a team-high 20 digs, followed by Marten with 17.
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday (Oct. 13) when they travel to Marietta to play Marietta College at 1:00 p.m. in the Ban Johnson Arena.
